Aquaworld Budapest is one of the largest indoor water parks in Europe, located in the northern outskirts of Budapest, near the Megyeri Bridge. Inaugurated in 2008, the complex covers an area of 54,000 square meters and offers a wide range of attractions and services for visitors of all ages, all year round.
The heart of Aquaworld is a gigantic dome, with a diameter of 72 meters and a height of five floors. The dome, made of advanced materials used in the aerospace industry, covers an area of 4200 square meters and can accommodate up to 1800 people simultaneously. Beneath this imposing structure is a monumental replica of the Angkor Wat temple, surrounded by suspended bridges, towers, and pools, creating a fascinating and unique atmosphere.
The park offers 17 pools, 15 of which are operational year-round, and 11 slides with a total length of one kilometer. Among the most popular slides are themed ones like the Jungle Slide and the Octopus Slide, designed for children but also for adults seeking adventure. In addition to slides and pools, Aquaworld also offers diving and surfing courses for those looking to try new experiences.
Another highlight of the park is the “Sauna World,” located under the Mountain River slide. Here, visitors can relax in a variety of saunas, including Finnish, Russian, and aromatic, as well as steam rooms and plunge pools. However, access to the “Sauna World” is not included in the main entrance ticket and requires an additional fee.
For the little ones, Aquaworld has created the Bongo Kids Club, a play area with climbing walls, soccer fields, and obstacle courses. There is also the Aqua Spray Park, a 400 square meter water playground with refreshing showers, gargoyles, and tipping buckets, ideal for family fun.
The complex also includes the Aquaworld Resort Budapest, a luxury hotel offering 309 rooms, including suites and apartments, and can accommodate up to 838 guests. The hotel features a conference center with a capacity of nearly 1000 people, three restaurants, bars, an oriental-style wellness area, and numerous play areas for children.
From an architectural point of view, Aquaworld is a combination of modern style and exotic themes. The dome structure and interior design seamlessly integrate with the idea of creating a modern water sanctuary, where adventure and relaxation merge into a unique experience. This balance between advanced technology and thematic design makes Aquaworld a one-of-a-kind destination.
Despite its peripheral location, Aquaworld is easily accessible from the center of Budapest thanks to a free shuttle service that connects the park to Heroes’ Square. Additionally, the park offers ample outdoor parking with a capacity of over 1000 spaces.
