Cavuto Springs

Europe,
Italy,
Anversa degli Abruzzi,
In the heart of the Nature Reserve, the abundant Cavuto Springs present themselves as a fascinating natural spectacle. The term “Cavuto,” which in the Abruzzese dialect means ‘hole’ or ‘cavity,’ perfectly reflects the landscape, where water surprisingly emerges from the crevices at the base of the rocks, from the scree, and from the clods of earth. The rivulets that form join together, creating small pools and ponds, where hydrophilic vegetation that thrives in the humidity grows, before the waters flow into the Sagittario River. To sustain this natural wonder, the ancient mill, once powered by the stream, has been repurposed as the Reserve’s Visitor Center. Inside, it is possible to explore educational panels that describe the peculiarities of the area, use interactive games, and enjoy a book crossing board for book exchange, enriching the visit with a cultural element.
