Isla Mágica is a theme park located on the Isla de la Cartuja in Seville, a place of fun and adventure that offers a unique experience for visitors of all ages. Opened in 1997, the park was built on the site of the 1992 Universal Exposition, an event that profoundly transformed the city and the La Cartuja neighborhood. Isla Mágica is one of the main tourist attractions in Seville, combining thrilling rides, live shows, and historical reconstructions in a setting that celebrates the age of exploration and geographical discoveries.
The park is divided into seven themed areas, each offering a unique setting and specific attractions that transport visitors to different eras and exotic locations. These areas are El Puerto de Indias, Mundo Maya, Amazonia, La Guarida de los Piratas, Puerta de América, Sevilla Puerto de Indias, and Metropol Parasol. Each area is richly decorated and offers an immersive experience, with rides, shows, and attractions that reflect the specific theme.
El Puerto de Indias is the first area visitors encounter when entering the park. Inspired by the port of Seville during the age of exploration, this area recreates the lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere of a 16th-century port. Here, visitors can explore the Torre del Oro, a replica of the famous tower of Seville, and enjoy street performances and live music that recreate the energy and dynamism of the historic port.
Mundo Maya transports visitors to the ancient Mayan civilization, with mysterious ruins and majestic temples. The main attractions include “El Jaguar,” a roller coaster that offers an adrenaline-filled ride through the jungle, and “El Templo del Fuego,” a fireworks and lights show that tells the legends and myths of the Maya.
Amazonia is an area that celebrates the rich biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest. With attractions like “Anaconda,” a water log ride that goes through waterfalls and rapids, and “Rápidos del Orinoco,” a rafting adventure, visitors can experience the natural wonders of the Amazon in a fun and engaging way.
La Guarida de los Piratas is a paradise for lovers of pirate stories and maritime adventures. This area offers attractions like “El Galeón,” a pirate ship to explore, and “La Furia de los Dioses,” a water ride that simulates a pirate attack. Pirate combat and dueling shows add a touch of realism and action to the experience.
Puerta de América recreates the atmosphere of the Spanish colonies in the New World, with buildings and streets reminiscent of the colonial cities of Latin America. Attractions include “El Desafío,” a free-fall tower that offers breathtaking views of the park and the city, and “La Isla de los Niños,” an area dedicated to children with safe rides and games.
Sevilla Puerto de Indias is an area that celebrates the city of Seville and its role as a main port during the age of exploration. This area features a replica of the Giralda and offers attractions that tell the history and culture of Seville, with flamenco shows and other traditional performances.
Finally, Metropol Parasol is the most modern area of the park, inspired by the iconic structure of Seville. Here, visitors can enjoy innovative and futuristic attractions that combine advanced technology and contemporary design.
In addition to attractions and themed areas, Isla Mágica offers a wide range of services and amenities for visitors. Restaurants, cafes, and kiosks throughout the park offer a variety of dining options, from local specialties to international dishes. Picnic areas and refreshment points are perfect for a relaxing break during the visit.
The park is also known for its live shows, including theatrical performances, concerts, dance shows, and acrobatics. These events are designed to entertain and amaze the audience, with performances ranging from historical tales to modern stage arts.
