The Municipal Library of Prague, located in the heart of the city, is a culturally significant institution with a rich and fascinating history. An interesting anecdote concerns the birth of the library. At the beginning of the 20th century, the city of Prague recognized the need for a public library that could serve the entire community. The construction of the current building was made possible thanks to the financial support of Czech industrial magnate Emil Kolben, whose significant contribution enabled the realization of this important cultural project. In recent decades, the Municipal Library has continued to evolve to meet the needs of modern society.
